Whether you’re after a physical challenge or simply a peaceful walk in nature, we’ll help you plan an adventure that’s as special as you imagine.

Explore the History and Culture of Castalla

Our strategic location lets you explore one of the region’s most iconic landmarks: the majestic Castalla Castle. This imposing fortress, built in the 11th century during the Muslim period and later adapted by the Christians, was a key point in the defence of the Crown of Aragon against Castile. From its walls, you’ll enjoy panoramic views over the Foia de Castalla, a landscape that blends history and nature like nowhere else.

Strolling through the cobbled streets of Castalla’s historic centre feels like stepping back in time. Every corner tells a story — from stately houses with unique architectural details to the Plaza Mayor, home to the historic 17th-century Town Hall. Discover the Ermita de la Sang, a 14th-century Gothic chapel famous for housing the image of the Virgen de la Soledad, patron saint of Castalla. Its architecture and sacred art are a living reflection of local faith and tradition.

Complete your cultural journey with a visit to the local museums or activities that combine history and nature, such as guided routes around the Conjunt Patrimonial del Castell de Castalla heritage site. This complex includes not only the castle but other historic features such as cisterns, ancient walls, archaeological sites and traditional paths.
